If you’re in the area, you won’t want to miss one of the most photogenic spots in the country. This valley was created from more than 300 million years of geological activity. The reflective lake, backgrounded by two majestic snowy maroon-colored mountains, is the perfect photo opportunity. Located just 10 miles west of Aspen, this part of the Rocky Mountains has plenty of hiking trails and gorgeous scenery in every season.

This mountain summit in the Elk Mountains range of the Rocky Mountains is truly something you need to take in. Surrounded by the White River National Forest, this mountain is home to many hiking trails and top-notch ski experiences at the Aspen Mountain ski area. A tip from the locals: call the mountain by its nickname “Ajax” and you’ll fit right in!

The Buttermilk Ski Area is a ski hill in Aspen that has three fantastic ski areas. It has hosted the ESPN Winter X Games multiple times, and is famous for being one of the best beginner ski mountains in the U.S. This is a great ski area to take the whole family – the base has The Hideout, a wonderful children’s play-and-learning area for little ones.
