Old San Juan is Vinnie Van GO’s favorite spot in Puerto Rico. This district made up of eight by ten blocks is the oldest settlement in Puerto Rico, and a great place to learn about the historic colonial section of the city. If you see anything in Puerto Rico, it must be this.

This 16th century citadel is one of San Juan’s most popular, and beautiful, tourist sites. Built to guard the entrance of the San Juan Bay and defend the city from naval enemies, this is now a World Heritage Site, and each year receives more than two million visitors.

Built by Spain to protect the city against land-based attacks, this 18th century fort is the biggest fortification built by the Spanish in the New World, and another of San Juan’s must-see sites.
