Travelers Prefer Warm Destinations for Spring Break

As record cold grips many parts of the U.S. this month, The GO Group, LLC asked its customers if they plan on traveling this upcoming spring.

Of the respondents, 20 percent answered “yes,” with 27 percent of those noting they are headed somewhere warm and sunny. Seven percent are headed to the mountains for skiing and other snowy winter fun. Twenty percent said they are headed somewhere outside the U.S.

At the time of the survey, 55 percent said they were not traveling during spring break season and 25 percent said they weren’t sure yet.

“While the survey indicates more people are headed to warmer climates than colder ones, a good percentage has yet to decide on their travel plans,” says John McCarthy, president of The GO Group. “However, the spring is typically a big travel time with families and college students taking advantage of their times off from school, so we expect these numbers to increase in all destination and resort areas.”

The GO Group, LLC is the nation’s largest airport transportation provider, offering shared rides, private vehicles, charters and tours, serving some 85 airports in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Australia and Europe and transporting more than 13 million passengers per year. Travelers can book ground transportation to and from both departure and destination airports through GO’s website, www.goairportshuttle.com.
