Mini-bars and free toothbrushes are passé. The experts at The GO Group LLC researched hotels and resorts to the find the most creative new amenities. These properties do it better!

Sleep better:

With hotels in Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, Portland and Chicago, the hotels of Pineapple Hospitality offer its guests The Naked Experience™ which provides a great night’s sleep and the freedom to get comfortably naked – just like at home. Inspired by traditional European hotel bedding, each Pineapple Bed comes with two individually folded duvets to allow each sleeper to snuggle into a whole new level of comfort with every stitch of super-soft bedding. Extra goodies include fluffy robes and slippers, and a top sheet and blankets in case traditional bedding is preferred. Not quite ready for sleep? Indulge in complimentary pineapple infused water and pineapple cupcake service at all Stay Pineapple hotels.

Drink better:

Soda anyone? No thanks! The Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas recently installed a vending machine for Moet Champagne. Guests can purchase a $20 voucher from the front desk at check in. If you’re not into the bubbly you might like Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa’s newest offering, “Straight from the Tap” IRD Growler Fills. Guests are able to choose from eight different local craft brewers and have draft beer poured directly in their rooms. The growlers are 32 oz. and insulated so they don’t need refrigeration. The property also offers personal tours at the participating local breweries.

Look better:

The Hotel Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas launched a “Dressing-Room to Guest-Room” in partnership with exclusive luxury retailer, Stanley Korshak. Guests are offered in-room selections of couture clothing complete with shoes and accessories to try-on and purchase in the privacy of their room. All unwanted items can be sent back and an on-call tailor is available for alterations. The Kimpton Mason & Rook Hotel in Washington D.C. has partnered with luxury brand Shinola to offer a Watch Butler service for guests, who may select and borrow at no cost a handmade Shinola watch during their stay. At the Kimpton Gray Chicago, gusts can spiff up their look by purchasing a Tie and/or Pocket Square from the Front Desk or via their guestroom minibar.

Tour Better:

The Loews Regency in NYC partners with Fit Tours NYC, as part of its Park Avenue Perks program. Guests are led on complimentary guided runs, a Sunrise Yoga Walk or two other higher intensity workouts that blend exercise with historical tours of the Central Park. Visitors to Le Méridien Chambers in Minneapolis are invited to explore the city’s art and local culture via its ‘Unlock Art’ program where room key cards offer complimentary access to the best art museums and cultural institutions. And in addition to an on-property gallery and an interactive ‘art-o’mat’ in the lobby via a repurposed cigarette vending machine that dispenses colorful artifacts donated by artists from around the world. The Conrad Chicago offers a Virtual Reality Concierge featuring 360 video and Oculus headsets, allowing guests to virtually try unique Chicago experiences such as looking at the city from 1,000 feet above ground from The
John Hancock building.
